Art Island(Picasso)
Pablo Picasso, with his full name (October 25, 1881 –
April 8, 1973), Spanish painter and sculptor. It is one of the best known names
of 20th century art. He laid the foundations of the cubism movement with
Georges Braque.
Picasso, one of the first to come to mind when talking
about painting art all over the world, was born on October 25, 1881 in Malaga,
Spain. His full name is Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno
María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso. He
started painting at a young age with the influence of his father, who is a
painter and also an art teacher. He entered the Fine Arts School in 1895. He
started using Picasso, his mother’s surname, in 1901. His works were published
in the Spanish magazine Juventut.
Picasso, who first went to Paris in 1900, lived for a
while in the Montmartre district, where the innovative artists of that time
lived. His early works between 1901 and 1904 consist of pictures of ordinary
people, circus clowns, acrobats. In his paintings, he reflected the sad side of
the circus life as well as the urban life. This period of Picasso is defined as
the “Blue Period”.The famous painter passed away on April 8, 1973.
